How to get licensed
- 1Confirm you are at least 18 and meet citizenship/legal-residency or work-authorization rules.
- 2Complete at least 40 hours of approved professional training, unless an official exemption applies.
- 3Obtain the training certificate record and prepare identity/photo/fingerprint items.
- 4Apply online, in person, or by mail to FDACS Division of Licensing.
- 5For armed work, obtain the separate Class G Statewide Firearm License in addition to Class D.
